Noryangjin fish market - 07/11

After my last class of the day on July 11th, I met a group of friends on my way back to SK Global; and we all ended up going on a short evening trip to Noryangjin fish market to have a seafood dinner together. I used to go to seafood markets with my mom when my family was in Vietnam but from my memories, it didn't seem to offer as a variety of seafood options as Noryangjin market. The first moment I crossed the bridge to enter Noryangjin, the smell of seafood spread heavily all over place. The smell wasn't good to be honest but it kinda reminded me of my childhood, good memories though so I immediately felt attached to Noryangjin. Noryangjin was nothing like what I anticipated to see. Its size was way beyond my expectation. I was extremely amazed by how big Noryangjin is. The place filled up with different spots of different owners and they tried to get my attention whenever I passed by. Each owner has some sorts of connection with restaurants on the second floor so typically, the owners of seafood location will take you to that certain restaurant after you complete a purchase (my friend translated this so I trusted that her explanation was correct lol). Seafood is always so expensive and Noryangjin was not an exception. After we stopped at different places and bargained with gestures (LOL), we decided to purchase a few types of seafood that we all could eat. Still really expensive from our typical meals but it was all fine because at least I tried the Korean signature live octopus that I saw from other students' previous blogs and we had so much fun discussing about how good/ bad our orders were from our original thoughts. Here are some of the pictures that I captured that day:

Another one..

From what I remember, each octopus costed an average of 5000 won or more depending on its size.
Everything is in Korean

Fishes are still alive.

She was choosing a decent crab for us but we ended up not buying because the small one was still very expensive for students like us.

The walkway was surprisingly clean! I love it ;)
Thinly sliced raw fish - Sashimi
Barbecue grilled eels... Very delicious!
A short clip of raw octopus... Yes, I literally meant raw :)) You are supposed to chew it on quickly if you plan to eat this. Otherwise it would attach inside of your mouth when possible,
Never forgot this part... Group selfie before saying goodbye to Noryangjin!
The majority of my photos is seafood so I didn't provide much descriptions. I hope you enjoyed this post. :)
